Description

Summary Delivers construction tools, equipment, and materials to and from job-sites and vendors. Assists in the Tool Room when not driving.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drives vehicle (Medium Body Trucks up to 26000 GVW) to deliver construction tools, equipment, and materials to and from jobsites and vendors.
  • Verify delivery paperwork to ensure accuracy of delivery.
  • Drive forklifts as needed.
  • Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections on each vehicle driven.
  • Complete and process "Driver's Daily Log" reports and "Trip Expense Report" forms daily.
  • Clean delivery vehicles-inside and outside.
  • Convey tools, material, and other items from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Assemble customer requisitions from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to shipping department.
  • Records amount of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Clean, test, and place returned stock items back into inventory.
  • Answer telephone calls and offer assistance.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience-
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
    • One to three months related experience (driving medium body trucks up to 26000GVW) and/or training;
  • Language Skills-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
