About the Role:
As the Staff Accountant, you will perform a variety of administrative tasks including budget preparation, scheduling, reporting, and tracking information for key executives. Prepares simple analysis of requested information or data. Makes interpretations and recommendations related to assigned responsibilities and duties as appropriate. Performs other clerical duties as required, such as typing, scheduling, opening daily mail, and distributing. Work is performed using general instructions and procedures, with supervision from the Assistant Controller. Develop efficiencies and the most appropriate methods to handle information. Requires solid communication skills, interpersonal skills, and secretarial skills. Knowledgeable of accounting financial systems and procedures, company policies, and department operation
In this Role You Will:
- Process vendor invoices:
- Match invoices to purchase orders to ensure pricing and quantity on a daily basis.
- Enter vendor invoices into Dynamics.
- Sort, distribute, and electronically scan all invoices for management approval.
- Compiles, reviews, and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or spreadsheets and databases.
- Assist in month-end close processes for financial reporting
- Assist with Joint Venture monthly activity
- Weekly allocation for worker’s compensation and other insurance
- Job cost transfers
- Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers.
- Extracts general ledger information for use in schedules and report preparation
- Reconciles bank statements.
- Respond to vendor inquiries as required.
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements, researching and resolving any discrepancies
- Other duties as required
Education/Experience:
- College degree; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
