Note: This is an onsite role in our corporate office in Atlanta, GA.

About the Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will oversee a complete estimate from start to finish including assigning portions of an estimate to Junior Estimators and interacting with Group Managers, Project Managers, and other office personnel. Additionally, a Senior Estimator should be able to develop recap sheets, and scope letters, and complete required RFP responses to projects. Other Senior Estimator duties should include assisting in developing Junior Estimator estimating, providing constructability input as necessary on projects, and having knowledge of conceptual estimates.

In this Role You Will:

• Manage the entire estimate for bid submission preparation while taking on other critical duties.
• Assist in developing Junior Estimators answer questions, help make decisions, and provide support as required.
• Communicate with the customers, engineers, and other team members to clarify the scope and any other issues related to the estimate. Cultivate & maintain relationships with customers to promote return business.
• Support Operations with specific work breakdowns, estimate hours, large change requests, and scope inclusions as they relate to an estimate.
• Write estimate-specific scope letters of inclusions and exclusions to better clarify an electrical proposal.
• Proficient in Accubid or similar estimating software in order to complete the take-off and quantification process properly. 
• Assist younger estimators with the Accubid learning process. Head up large-scale estimates and break them down for estimating team members.
• Review vendor and sub-contractor pricing to ensure the pricing is correct and represents the scope called for.
• Provide cost analysis and review for multiple types of projects.
• Develop Recapitulation Sheets (Recap Sheets) to arrive at a final price for each estimate. Understand building crews based on overtime requirements, scheduling, equipment deliveries, etc.
• Understand equipment and schedule impacts on projects.
• Be able to coordinate and run Risk Reviews to assure upper management that all factors have been considered during the estimating process.
• Be able to understand multiple types of construction and how they affect an estimate and advise on constructability methods for the betterment of a project.
• Have the ability to recognize cost savings opportunities and not compromise the integrity of a project.

Education/Experience:

• 8-10 years of Mechanical estimating experience specific to HVAC, Plumbing, or Pipping
• Strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Accubid, and are savvy enough to pick up new web applications quickly
• Strong interpersonal, organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
• Strong internal and external communication skills including verbal, written, presentational, and active listening 
• A positive attitude! You are self-sufficient, but can also work well as part of a team
• A High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education & Training:

• Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management Degree
• Mechanical Apprenticeship Training
• Industrial Mechanical Estimating Experience.
• Mechanical Contractors Association of American (MCAA) Estimating Courses
