About the Role:

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of Cleveland Electric's projects by maintaining the highest quality standards throughout all phases of construction. This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the project’s Quality Control Plan, performing inspections, and managing documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. The QCM works closely with project managers, engineers, electricians, and clients to address quality-related issues, ensuring that all equipment and systems are installed and commissioned properly. The role requires strong leadership skills to manage the site’s quality team, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and drive the project toward successful completion. Through diligent quality oversight and reporting, the QCM ensures that Cleveland Electric delivers a reliable, safe, and high-quality product to its clients.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees and ensures the consistent implementation of the project’s Quality Control Plan (QCP). Develops, maintains, and improves the quality management system to align with Cleveland Electric's standards and client requirements.
  • Supervises daily construction activities to ensure work complies with project specifications, design requirements, and applicable codes. Conduct inspections and audits to verify proper installation of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Communication: Represents Cleveland towards the customer; controls and manages this interface and cultivates the relationship.
  • Manages and maintains all quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans. Utilizes tools such as Autodesk Build to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible.
  • Leads pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for all electrical systems and equipment. Verifies that systems are installed, tested, and operational before project turnover to the client. Coordinates with vendors, subcontractors, and project teams during these phases.
  • Provides daily quality updates to project managers and stakeholders on the progress of inspections, testing, and quality compliance.
  • Supervises and guides the on-site technical team responsible for quality inspections. Provides training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure that all team members meet Cleveland Electric's quality standards.

Education/Experience:

  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree or applicable Field/Electrician experience. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of electrical industry experience, with 3+ years in a quality-focused role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, analytical skills, and comprehensive understanding of electrical standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with pre-commissioning and commissioning processes for electrical systems
  • Proficiency with quality management tools and platforms such as Autodesk Build
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety standards
